Jonas Havlykke a carpenter needed an identity for his new carpentry firm and wanted to use his name for it as the business would be named Havlykke Håndværk. He wanted his brand to reflect quality, efficiency, and reliability.
I started by looking at competitors in the area in which his firm would operate. None of them seemed to give the impression of quality. I wanted the brand to stand out and be recognizable. I wanted to incorporate both a wordmark and an icon to be used together or alone in different situations. Together Jonas and I found his ideal customer, whom the brand would be focused on connecting with. The color is inspired by Jonas's surname "Havlykke" which directly translates to "ocean happiness" therefore the color is blue to represent the ocean. Blue is also a color that is often associated with trust, and safety.
The result was a combination of "Havlykke" in a wordmark and two HH in an icon represented in a way that looks like pin assemblies. The two Ks have been fused together to create a truly unique element in the wordmark, that represents precision. The tagline "The right choice" is part of the icon, where "Since 2020" comes after. The tagline was a way to sway customers who were on the fence, to choose Havlykke Håndværk over their competitors.
