Sooty was my 2. semester exman project. It entailed creating a subbrand for Rynkeby called Sooty, focusing on smoothies for children.
I started by planning out the project so that It would be easy to track. Along with a brand identity, they also needed an animated advert, label design and a poster to be placed in the street.
I wanted the design to be fun, energetic and engaging. Based on my research I found out kids like collecting things, so my solution would include collectible stickers. Even though children are not the ones buying the product, I wanted the design to talk to them. The idea was that the parents wanted to buy the product for their children, because of the kid's interest in the visuals and, and the desire to collect stickers.
The logo uses organic forms to resemble the products that Smooty sells. The swoosh at the bottom resembles both a drop and a tongue.
The label uses waves to create motion and fun elements like lime boats. The colors are bright and eye-catching. The label can be easily adjusted to fit different variations.
The result is a coherent identity that engages children., and encourages children to trade stickers with eachother. This creates a sense of community and uses mouth-to-mouth advertising.
